The current members serving on the committee are profiled below

Jonathan Saunders - Chairman
After 51/2 years of being afloat and enjoying many challenges and adventures Jonathan has now sold Castaway and she has left these shores for Norway.
This year he plans to take time out to think about boating plans and catch up with some jobs that just wouldn't go away!
He is a keen as ever on keeping up with changes in the boating world and as Chair of the Bertholders will still be around and about. Do stop him and say hello when he is about especially if you have a marina issue you want to raise. Alternatively you can contact him by e.mail and he will happily get back to you.

Carol Turner
Carol Turner - Association Secretary
Carol experienced dinghy sailing as a teenager but didn't like getting wet feet - so moved on to cruising yachts for a few years. For the past 20 years she has been involved in motorboating with her partner Ivor Moorhouse. At Cobbs Quay since 1995, their first Channel crossing in 1999 was with CQBHA and through the association they have made many new friends. Cruising in company greatly increased their confidence and they now regularly visit France and the Channel Islands. They have also navigated the River Seine to Paris and the River Rance to Dinan.
Carol can be found aboard Solaris on C35.

Linda & Kevin Butler

Kevin and Linda Butler - Cruising Secretaries

Joined the association in 1996, "in order to widen our cruising experiences and meet new people." They have been at Cobbs Quay since 1987. Although as Linda would say, Kevin has been mucking about on the water for ever, from canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing to finally a small cruiser. Their two children have grown up at the marina, meeting new friends and gaining confidence whilst cruising and of course playing.

"Our aim is to help others in the same way we were helped, to achieve that distant challenge and daunting journey, but in the company of others. If you would like to talk to us about cruising then please come and see us on A13."

Jim Reynolds
Jim Reynolds - Member Communications
Jims introduction to boating began in his teens when his father purchased what he describes as the 'African Queen on a Meccano trailer'.
Since those early days he's owned a succession of trailer boats, but eventually wanting to spend more time on the water, moved to Cobbs during '98 where he berths his 'thirsty' Bayliner Trophy Sports / Fisher.
Frequently boating with his wife Steff, or fishing mates, you'll often see him burning fuel out to marks in the bay.
Now on F163 he's always keen to swop experiences about boating or the one that got away.

Clive Snow
Clive is the guy you want to know when and if you have a problem. He is the local Sea Start representative and can fix almost anything, or knows someone who can! He skippers Girl Fisher, which is our long distance cruise safety vessel, and is married to Gill a founder member of the Association.
