Dredging Operations

Boats and fingers are now being removed between C & D pontoons ahead of dredging operations, which are due to start shortly.
Once the dredging has been completed between C & D pontoons the dredging operations will move around to the north side of D pontoon before moving to the south side of A pontoon.
At this time all dredging is planned to be completed by the end of January, however this is subject to weather conditions.

During dredging operations and barge movements in and out of the marina Berth Holders are respectfully asked to observe any instructions given by the barge master and to exercise caution whilst navigating in or around the dredger/barge.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all berth holders who have worked with us to enable these important works to be undertaken and apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused during these operations.

10/10/06 Mooring Lines and Fenders

As we have experienced the first high winds of the forthcoming autumn and winter seasons we would urge you to check out the condition of your mooring lines and fenders before the winter gales come our way.  Likewise, summer awnings and lightweight covers should either be removed or securely lashed in place to prevent the elements getting into your pride & joys!

I have received advice from the Harbour Masters office that "Harbour Control Office" (VHF Channel 14) are now able to give accurate air draught information very quickly to any vessel uncertain of their clearance under the bridge and will give out this information on request.
It will remain the owner's responsibility to make the decision about his safe transit.
If this information is requested, the HCO will braodcast the information as follows: "Air draught, Poole Bridge, X.XX metres; time XXXX".

Andy Osman reports "we are very happy to inform you that we now appear to have cured the water pressure problems in the showers and at the same time have changed the shower heads in favour of a more straightforward product, which we hope will provide a better quality of shower".

Cobbs Quay Coffee Morning
Andy Osman is holding a coffee morning on the 18th June 2005 for Cobbs Quay berth holders from 9.30 a.m.
The Police, RNLI, Coastguard, Sea Fisheries, Fire Brigade etc., have been invited to attend, to advise and talk to you about matters of interest.

Dredging of F Pontoon - the dredging barge and associated equipment is due to return to Cobb's Quay this week to complete the dredging works ahead of the installation of the new walkways, fingers and bridgehead. All vessels coming to and from the fuel berth and or slipway are advised to observe and obey any instructions from the dredge masters vessel and exercise caution at all times.

14/02/05
Disruption of electricity supplies - over the course of the past 10 days we have twice lost electricity supplies to the site.  The problems have been caused by the electricity supplier and on one occasion the loss of supply went as far as Upton. On both occasions the supply was lost for approximately 20 minutes.  In the event that you have not visited your boat for the past couple of weeks it may be prudent to check that any electrical appliances on board your vessels, including any time clocks etc have been adjusted and are working correctly.

21/01/05
F pontoon has now been closed ahead of demolition, dredging and re-construction for the new season. The pontoon replacement work will commence Monday 24th January and will be completed in time for the start of the 2005 season.
